What You Believe Matters: Word&You Today; April 16th, 2020

The WORD: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.” Matthew 12:35

Over years as a minister of the gospel, I have had the privilege of ministering to precious people from all walks of life. I have seen and met a number of people with different problems, fear, anxiety, and so many of the challenges of life one can think of. A lot through our ministrations have encountered breakthrough, peace, boldness, joy, and greatness in no time while a lot are still held bound in the same trouble or affliction and problems.

How did those who experienced victory break free? Why are others still trapped? The answer is simple. Are you ready to hear this? It is their beliefs. What you believe is critical. What you believe informs what you become. It informs what you will fear and also inform how bold you will be per time above all it informs your behavior or character per time and also how and what you say per time.

You see, if you believe wrong, you will struggle with wrong thoughts. Wrong thoughts will produce unhealthy emotions that will lead to toxic feelings of guilt, shame, condemnation, and fear. Before you know it those wrong feelings will ultimately produce wrong behaviors, actions, and painful addictions.

Wrong believing is the major access to defeat in life. Yes, you believe but you have believed wrongly. Apostle Paul said, “Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?” – 1 Thessalonians 3:10.

Listen to this; a lacking Faith is a product of wrong belief. A lacking faith will never sustain anyone in a time of the problem. It is what keeps you trapped and drives you deeper and deeper into paralyzing captivity. But on the other hand, Right believing is the door out of this vicious cycle of defeat. When you believe right, you will live right. The right belief will always produce the right living.

How to believe Right? It is very simple. You must focus your study in the word of God to things that are yours in Christ Jesus. You must shift your learning or study attention to the finished work of Christ through His death and resurrection. The scriptures say “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. “ – Philemon 1:6 (KJV).

A true and strong faith is built only on the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. A lot have not come to the knowledge of this truth and no wonder they have not to been able to come to right believing. Apostle Paul said “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; “– Hebrews 3:1. He further said “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:2. (KJV)

Conclusion

Today, begin to believe right by choosing to know and believe in the powerful truths of God’s Word and in His love for you in Christ Jesus. Begin to set your heart to discover and meditate on the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work for you through His death and resurrection. I mean what you have in Christ and what He has already accomplished for you. Please choose to renew your mind with God’s truths about who you really are in Christ and how precious you are to Him – Romans 12:2 / Philippians 2:6.
