For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks on this wise…… Rom 10:5-6
There are two kinds of righteousness in the history of the scripture. The first existed before Christ came. It is called self righteousness which is by doing through Laws. “Those who do them live by them” the pioneer was Moses.
The Bible says Law came by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus – John 1:17. The New Covenant Righteous “The righteousness of Faith” came through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! – Rom 10:4 says For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
Gal 3:23 says “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.”Let me say something about faith. You cannot have faith without speaking it. When you study Romans 10: 1-6. You will notice that it says that “the righteousness which is of the law…. does…. But the righteousness of faith speaks.” The law is about doing, whereas faith is about speaking.
It is not enough to just know in your mind that you are righteous. It is not enough to just read this chapter or hear a sermon on righteousness and mentally agree that you are righteous. You need to open your mouth and say by faith, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ.” (2 Cor. 5:21).
You need to start confessing everything that is in Christ to be yours – Philemon 1:6 says “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus”. This is where many believers are missing out on the blessing of Abraham.
They are not speaking their righteousness by faith. Rather trying to do things to get God do stuff for them. Say with me .. I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. I am blessed, I am healthy, am wealthy, in fact i am complete in Christ Jesus. What Jesus can not lack i can not lack, what Jesus can not suffer i can not suffer. I am the image of God through Christ Jesus., I am loved by God daily and God is never mad at me for any moment.
Thank you Jesus for your love towards me. This is just some of the words you can speak daily which are the words of faith that can turn around things in your favor. Jesus said whatever you say you will have – Mark 11:22-24. Mathew 12:37. Do not be religious about the gospel. Righteousness is not a product of our doings it is a product of our faith. Never the less it will make us live the life of Christ without effort but through the grace and empowerment of the spirit that is in us. Zech 4:6, Phil 2:13, Heb 13:20-21
