Are Believers Sinless?

Who is a Believer?

A believer is a person that have believed in the the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her savior and have received His Lordship with a confession of the same from his or her mouth according to the scripture in Romans ten (10) from verse eight (8) through verse ten (10).

Romans 10:8-10 says “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. (KJV)

As a born again person or a believer which means the same thing. We are sinless by the nature of life that we have received in Christ Jesus. At point of Salvation we received a life. We received the life of Christ and his life is a sinless one. John 3:16 (KJV) says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 3:16 (KJV)  Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

1 John 5:12 (KJV)  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.With the above scriptures you will agree with me that every believer have the life of Christ in him. You can not be living that life and not be sinless.

A lot of people do say sometimes ago when referring to the time they actually became born again that “I gave my life to Jesus Christ” No! That is a big error. A very big error and lie. No one gave his life to Jesus. He has never needed anyone’s life and will never receive any life from anyone. Why? He himself is Life – John 1:4 says “In him was life; and the life was the light of men”..

He was the one who gave His own life to us. John 5:26 – For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; Jesus said ” I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” – John 10:11(KJV). 1 John 3:16 – Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

He further said “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father – John 10:17-18 (KJV)

In other words every believer or born again person have the life of Christ in him or her that is why a believer by nature is sinless. A believer should not sin and so we ought to be everyone of us. – 1 John 4:12-13 (KJV)  No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Can you see that? His love is perfected in us. remember love covers the multitudes of sin – 1 Peter 4:8. In other words a man who lives by love can never commit sin. No wonder Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love.- Mathew 22:36-40. Apostle Paul said in LOVE is the whole commandment established – Ga 5:14 – “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”.

Take not of this scripture with good attention. 1 John 3:9 (KJV)  Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.Did you see that? He can not sin. So why are believers committing sin? They are not walking in the energy of the Holy spirit – Luke 4:14 (KJV)  And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee:……

That spirit is his life in us – Jesus said the word I speak are life and spirit – John 6:63. See what Apostle John said about us and Christ with his life or spirit that we have received – 1 John 4:17 (KJV)  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.Wow! As he is so are we. He is sinless we are also sinless, he can not be sick and that is why a believer should not be sick. Etc

Wow! I love that we are sons and daughters of God because he has given us his life or spirit as you may put it – 1 John 3:24 (KJV)  And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.2 Corinthians 5:5 (KJV)  Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.Galatians 4:6 (KJV)  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Now you can see why I said we are sinless by what God made us in Christ Jesus – 1 John 5:20 (KJV)  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Now here is a question? How do you know that you are a son or daughter of God? The acid test is when only you are being led by that same Spirit of life of Christ that is in you. See it here:  Romans 8:14 (KJV)  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Here is another question….Can the holy spirit lead you to sin? Either to fornicate, lie, kill, commit adultery, cheat on people, hate people, etc? I am sure your answer is No! Then if we by the Spirit of Christ live daily we will be sinless which is the plan and the will of God for given us the spirit or life of Christ in us – Romans 8:13-14 (KJV)  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Answer to the question above is that we are supposed to be sinless by divine ordination but a larger percentage of us are not…. because we are not being led daily by the Holy Spirit. Sin is alive and active. Jesus did not kill sin or destroy sin as some said. No! He only gave us the higher authority or power to say no to sin – Romans 6:14-15 (KJV)  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Here is what the grace we have received in Christ Jesus does to us to make us sinless only if we choose to walk daily with His grace. – Titus 2:11-12 (KJV)  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Can a believer be sinless the answer is Yes! And that is the will of God for us in Christ Jesus and that is a people Christ will return to rapture.  Ephesians 5:27 – That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Actually that is the state of maturity of faith in Christ Jesus – Ephesians 4:11-13 (KJV)  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

Conclusion

Our target daily should be to move towards a sinless lifestyle which is only possible by the help of the spirit of grace through our lord Jesus Christ if we submit to this life in him to rule us – Romans 8:14, Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Romans 5:1-2 (KJV)  Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.Galatians 5:18 (KJV)  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

SIN THAT EASILY COME ON US

Please note this is where we have relaxed and we have not being growing in Christ because sin easily besets us: Apostle Paul said “Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV)  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The word to look for in verse one above is “SIN THAT EASILY COME ON US” why should we watch out for that word simply because sin is a live it is around us daily it is looking for how to work it’s power in us. How do we overcome that? Here this….Christ has already overcome that for us through his death and resurrection. And when we became saved…we were dead with him and also resurrected with him by faith. We are a dead man to sin by the work of salvation wrought in us by Jesus Christ.

We need to remain dead to sin. Sin is never going to be dead to us but we are dead to it. So do all possible by the help of the holy spirit to remain dead to it. – Romans 6:2. God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6:11- Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:13 – Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Ephesians 2:5 – Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Colossians 2:13 – And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
1 Peter 2:24 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

And verse two (2) of the above Hebrews Chapter Twelve (12) says looking unto Jesus the author and the finishers of out faith. Meaning our focus and help comes from Christ to live his own life; it is not by our work or power. No!
